Today, we are absolutely thrilled to feature the real wedding of one of our favorite wedding bloggers, Aletha of Pearls Events! Aletha is the owner and principal planner for Pearls Events, an event planning boutique located in West Michigan. Aletha's wedding blog is a constant inspiration for the planning bride and she even takes time to dish out tidbits of wedding advice over at Twitter. Such a lovely person! Such a lovely blog! We hope everyone enjoys the real wedding of Aletha Vandermaas! {Swoon!}

I had been planning my wedding since I was 17. Of course, it was waiting for the right guy to put the plan into action. Our five month engagement was more than enough time to plan because I was in the process of opening Pearls Events, and had done my research and knew the vendors I wanted to hire. On June 29, 2007, I married my awesome husband with no frills or fuss. We spent $15,000 on the traditional wedding and ballroom reception in our hometown for 140 guests, comprised mostly of family.
We had a traditional wedding day, starting with a first look with our photographer. Formal photos with our family & wedding party took place before our 5:00 p.m. ceremony. We decided against a receiving line and took a half hour to cruise around town in my grandparent's Excalibur before joining our guests for cocktails. Dinner followed, and Greg & I served cake to each table, as a means to greet each guest. We danced into the evening with friends and checked into our honeymoon suite at The Amway Grand Plaza by 1:00am. Since we were married on a Friday evening, we were off to Bermuda for our week-long honeymoon on Sunday morning.
We would sincerely thank Aletha for allowing us to share her exquisite wedding celebration with us and all of our blog readers. Each one of these beautiful photos was taken by the talented Jen Kroll and perfectly captured the magic of the entire day. Absolutely gorgeous!
